Types of Vebro Pu Floor Products

VebroPUCrumb Binder (Winter Grade)

VebroPU Crumb Binder (Winter Grade) is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane floor binder. It is a low-viscosity, MDI-based, solvent-free, and TDI-free product. It has good moisture tolerance, making it suitable for use in winter.

  • Application Temperature: 5 – 25°C
  • Colour: Clear

Substrate Preparation

Ensure the rubber granules are clean, dry, dust-free, and suitable for application. The mixing station must be waterproof; stop mixing if rain, fog, or mist is expected. vebro PU Crumb Binder (Winter Grade) should not be applied to wet surfaces.

Application

Place 25.0 kg of approved rubber granules (e.g., SBR for the shock pad or TPV/EPDM for the wearing course) into a clean, dry forced-action mixer. While mixing, add the vebro PU Crumb Binder (Winter Grade) as a single-component polyurethane resin.

Mix for at least 3 minutes until the granules are evenly coated. Discharge it into a lined wheelbarrow or bucket and take it to the application area. Spread and compact the material evenly using a steel trowel.

vebro PU Accelerator

vebro PU Accelerator is a curing catalyst made with a solvent-based metal-ion complex. It speeds up the reaction of 2-component polyurethane and polyurea systems. This helps reduce curing and working times, making it useful in low-temperature conditions for these products.

  • Application Temperature: 10 – 30°C
  • Colour: Transparent

Application

Vebro PU Accelerator is added slowly after the A+B components have been mixed evenly. The mixture is stirred until consistent. The amount of accelerator needed should be tested beforehand, depending on the product, temperature, and humidity.

As a guide, 0.2% of Vebro PU Accelerator may be added at 10°C and <85% relative humidity, which equals 50.0 ml for a 25.0 kg container of 2-K PU product.

Generally, Vebro Polymers polyurethane and polyurea products do not need acceleration under normal conditions, and the accelerator should only be used in low-temperature settings.

vebro PU ESD Seal (Matt)

Vebro PU ESD Seal (Matt) is a water-based, conductive, pigmented, and wear-resistant two-component PU sealer made with aliphatic PU resin. This product is colour-stable, environmentally friendly, weather-resistant, and highly resistant to diluted acids, alkalis, and many disinfectants. It is designed as a pigmented, conductive matt sealer for systems with light to medium mechanical loads. A protective film is recommended for sensitive areas to improve stain resistance and simplify floor maintenance.

  • Application Temperature: 15 – 25°C (min. 3°C above dewpoint)
  • Colour: Refer to Vebro Polymers’ Colour Chart
  • Foot Traffic: 18 hours @ 20°C

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be clean, dry, and free from dust, loose particles, and contaminants such as oils, grease, paint residues, chemicals, or laitance. Proper preparation ensures good adhesion. The sealer should be applied over hard-elastic or hard Vebro Polymers Epoxy or Polyurethane coating systems within the recoating window of the previous layer.

Vebro PU ESD Seal (Matt) is supplied in two pre-measured components. Stir the A-component for 1–2 minutes. While stirring, pour the B-component into the A-component container and mix thoroughly until uniform using an electric stirrer for 2–3 minutes. After mixing, sieve the material into a clean container using a paint filter (0.6–1.0 mm mesh) or similar to remove impurities, and mix briefly again. Avoid mixing in too much air during this process.

Application

Pour vebro PU ESD Seal (Matt) evenly onto the surface and spread in one direction with a roller. Then use a wide, short-piled microfibre roller to spread it further, finishing with a second pass in the same direction for an even application.

Vebro PU JC

Vebro PU JC is a tough, two-part polyurethane joint sealant for industrial flooring. It’s applied as a cold-cured filler for resin-based floors and joints in concrete, tiles, screeds, and granolithic surfaces. Designed to handle expansion and contraction from floor slab movement, Vebro PU JC provides strong adhesion to protect joint edges.

  • Application Temperature: 5 – 25°C
  • Colour: Black, Grey & Red (other colours are also available upon request)
  • Foot Traffic: 24 hours @ 20°C

Substrate Preparation

All joints must be solid, clean, and dry with relative humidity below 75%. Surfaces should be free from dust, laitance, oil, paint, or contamination. New concrete must be fully cured before application. Avoid using vebro PU JC in damp or wet conditions, as moisture affects its appearance and performance. Remove old materials and debris from the joints, cleaning or raking them as needed. When renewing joints in older floors, it’s best to profile joint shoulders using an epoxy repair system such as vebro EP Mortar.

Foam backer rods should be used for suspended floors to prevent the joint from passing through to the floor below. Friable surfaces can be primed with vebro PU JC Joint Primer before applying the sealant. Damaged areas must be cut back to sound concrete to a depth of 50.0 mm or at least twice the joint depth.

Use vebro EP Repair Mortar over vebro EP Cove Primer, ensuring proper compaction before reshaping the joint profile. Joint faces should be cut cleanly with a diamond saw to remove traces of old materials.

For joints deeper than 10.0 mm, insert a closed-cell polyurethane backing rod that is at least 10% larger in diameter than the joint width for a snug fit without stretching.

Application

  • Prime porous or friable surfaces with vebro PU JC Primer using a stiff brush before filling.
  • Mix the two components thoroughly for 3–4 minutes.
  • Tape the joint shoulders and pour the mixed sealant into the joint until level with the floor.
  • Pour the expansion joint within 30 minutes of mixing to avoid thickening.
  • Pour all of Part B (hardener) into Part A and mix for 3–4 minutes with a slow-speed drill and paddle mixer, keeping the mixer fully immersed to prevent air bubbles.
  • Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container regularly to ensure proper mixing.
  • After mixing, pour directly into the joint until slightly above the floor surface, allow it to settle, and level it with the floor using a flat-edged plastic scraper.

Vebro PU SC DPM

Vebro PU SC DPM is a 3-component, unpigmented polyurethane primer and scratch coat designed to handle up to 100% Relative Humidity (6% CM) in cement-based substrates. It works as a damp-tolerant primer, levelling layer, or scratch coat, suitable for use on prepared concrete or steel surfaces. • Application Temperature: 8 – 25 ̊C (min 3 ̊C above dewpoint)
  • Colour: Transparent, gloss-finish
  • Foot Traffic: 6 – 12 hours

Substrate Preparation and Application

The substrate must be clean, dry, and free from dust and loose particles. Remove all contaminants such as oils, grease, paint, chemicals, and laitance. vebro PU UV Binder is self-priming and should be applied at temperatures between 8°C and 25°C. Pre-heat the material if needed before application. Use only fire-dried fillers, decorative stone aggregates, or quartz with a single grain size.

Mix the vebro PU UV Binder with the filler until the mixture is smooth and even. Depending on the filler grain size and conditions, a binder ratio of 8–10% is recommended. Avoid using too much binder, as this can lead to foaming or poor adhesion. High temperatures and humidity will shorten pot life and curing time, while lower temperatures and humidity will extend them.

Spread the mixture onto the prepared surface with a trowel and smooth it by hand. Let the surface cure for 24 hours before applying any additional coatings.
