Different Systems of Altro Mosaic
The Altro Mosaic™ epoxy resin floor comes in systems with decorative acrylic flakes for matt or gloss finishes. Choose from 15 designs for a multi-layer finish that works on walls and floors or as a feature accent. The resin has a nominal thickness of 1.25mm.
Standard Gloss
The standard gloss option features a glossy, textured finish. It includes multi-coloured paint flakes mixed into a coloured Altro Tect base and is sealed with two layers of clear Altro Tect.
Standard Matt
The standard matt option features a smooth, matt finish. It includes a layer of multi-coloured acrylic flakes applied on a coloured Altro Tect base. This is sealed with three coats of clear Altro Tect and finished with a top coat of Altro Seal water-based matt, a polyurethane resin seal.
Vertical Gloss
Our vertical gloss variant offers a sleek and shiny finish, perfect for creating visually stunning and vibrant spaces. With its durable and chemical-resistant properties, it is suitable for medium-use areas such as walkways, corridors, reception areas, and atriums.
Vertical Matt
The vertical matt variant provides a sophisticated and understated finish, ideal for creating elegant and timeless spaces. Its low-sheen surface offers a subtle yet refined look, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Sustainability and Chemical Resistance
Altro’s sustainability program focuses on improving how we use the planet’s resources.
Altro Mosaic options are resistant to many common chemicals. However, prolonged or early contact with chemicals (including water) during curing can cause discolouration, stains, or changes in gloss.
If a chemical spill occurs, clean it up immediately and wash the surface with clean water. Use a wet vacuum to remove the water afterward.
Some chemicals may cause discolouration, but this does not always impact the strength or durability of the resin coating.

Installation Process and Conditions
Work in areas with good ventilation. The slab and air temperature should be above 10°C and rising, but not exceed 25°C. Mixing and applying epoxy resin outside this range is not recommended. Ambient conditions must stay at least 3°C above the dew point or below 75% relative humidity during the initial curing phase. If site temperatures drop below 10°C, curing times will increase significantly unless external heating is applied.
Concrete slab temperatures are usually lower than air temperatures, often by as much as 10°C, which affects curing speed. During curing, moisture in the air may settle on the surface, causing permanent clouding known as “blooming.” Cold, wet, or humid conditions, combined with poor airflow, can lead to condensation on the partially cured floor. The workability, open time, curing process, and readiness for traffic depend heavily on ambient conditions.

How to maintain an Altro Mosaic Floor?
To maintain an Altro Mosaic Floor, follow these simple steps for optimal care and longevity:
- Regular Cleaning: Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly to remove loose dirt and debris. Use a mild detergent diluted in warm water to mop the floor, ensuring not to oversaturate the surface.
- Prompt Spill Cleanup: Quickly clean up any spills to prevent staining or damage to the floor. Blot the spill with a clean cloth or paper towel, and then clean the area with a mild detergent solution.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Refrain from using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents on the Altro Mosaic floor. These can damage the floor’s surface and compromise its integrity.
- Protective Measures: Place mats or rugs in high-traffic areas and at entryways to trap dirt and moisture. Use protective pads or glides under furniture legs to prevent scratches or scuffs.
- Regular Maintenance: Inspect the floor periodically for any signs of wear or damage. Address any issues promptly to prevent further deterioration. If necessary, consult a professional for repair or maintenance.
