Types of Flowshield Products for Floors

Flowcoat / Flowshield LXP

Flowcoat / Flowshield LXP is a two-component, solvent free, self smoothing polyurethane floor coating product that can be used on concrete, asphalt, steel, and other surfaces where a flexible coating is required.

• Uses – Flowcoat / Flowshield LXP works well on concrete, steel, and asphalt surfaces that need flexibility.
• Application – Flowcoat LXP is applied in two roller coats at 0.5 kg/m² per coat, while Flowshield LXP is applied in a single self-levelling layer at 2.3 kg/m².
• Finish – Gloss

Application Process 

4.9 parts of Base A are mixed with 1 part of Hardener B by weight, or 3.9 parts of Base A to 1 part of Hardener B by volume. The product is supplied as complete A+B units and should not be split, as this may affect the final result. Add all of Hardener B to Base A, then mix with a slow-speed drill and helical spinner, making sure not to trap air. Pour the mixture into a second container and mix again to ensure an even consistency, avoiding any soft spots in the coating.

Curing time (at 20°C)

Flowcoat LXP HD

Flowcoat LXP HD is a two-component, solvent-free, flexible coating system designed for tough environments. It resists wear and chemicals, making it suitable for areas subjected to heavy foot and pallet truck traffic.

• Uses – Flowcoat LXP HD is a self-smoothing coating for concrete, steel, and asphalt surfaces that need flexibility and abrasion resistance. With around 40% elongation at break, it provides durability in demanding conditions. It is applied in two coats with a roller, covering 0.5 kg/m² per coat.
• Finish – Gloss

Application Process

The product is supplied in full units as A+B and should not be split, as this may affect performance. Mix 4 parts of Base A with 1 part of Hardener B by weight. Add all of Hardener B to Base A and mix with a slow-speed drill and helical spinner, ensuring no air is mixed in.

Curing time (at 20°C)

• Tack free after 6 hours.
• Can be walked on after 24 hours.
• Maximum overcoat time 24 hours.
• Full traffic after 48 hours.
• The product is fully hardened after 5 – 7 days.

Flowshield SK

Flowcoat/Flowshield SK Hardener B is combined with Flowcoat SF41 Base A to create a coloured 2-component epoxy coating resistant to hydraulic fluids.

• Uses – Provides a light to medium duty, easy-to-clean, chemical-resistant floor coating. A non-slip finish can be achieved by adding aggregates between coats. Common applications include aircraft hangars, parking areas, and workshops.
• Finish – Gloss

Application Process 

3.53 parts of Flowcoat SF41 Base A are mixed with 1 part of Flowcoat/Flowshield SK Hardener B by weight. Add Hardener B to Base A and mix well using a slow-speed drill with a helical spinner, making sure no air is trapped during mixing.

Curing time(18°C)

• Can be walked on after 24 hours.
• The product is fully hardened after 5-7 days.
• High humidity in the early stages of cure can result in white, matt surfaces (blooming).
• Do not cover or wash within the first 24 hours of curing.

Flowshield SL (new)

Flowshield SL (new) is a self smoothing, coloured 3-component epoxy-based floor coating designed for durability and simple application. 

• Uses – Flowshield SL (new) is used to protect concrete surfaces that need to withstand mechanical and chemical stresses. The finished surface is smooth, non-porous, and easy to clean. It is a self-levelling system applied in layers of 2-3 mm.
• Finish – Gloss

Application Process 

Mix:

• by weight: 3.3 parts of Component A, 1 part of Component B, and 5.6 parts of Component C.
• by volume: 2.4 parts of Component A, 1 part of Component B, and 2.2 parts of Component C.

Add all of Hardener B to Base A and mix well. Slowly add Filler C, ensuring it is fully mixed from the sides of the container and evenly spread. Use a slow-speed drill with a helical spinner to mix, taking care not to trap air.

Curing time(18°C)

• Can be walked on after 24 hours.
• The product is fully hardened after 5-7 days.
• High humidity in the early stages of cure can result in white, matt surfaces (blooming).
• Do not cover or wash within the first 24 hours of curing.
